There are two basic options:
Material supply only
Either
work out your quantities and order by phone, or send us
a sketch with dimensions so we can advise you on how much
you are likely to need. Materials will normally be delivered
within 2-3 working days.
Estimates:
We
can offer estimates from dimensioned sketch plans. Photographs
also help, but we cannot provide an estimate without a
drawing. If a visit to your boat is required, we reserve
the right to charge a call out fee, which is refundable
from your first order. When we provide an estimate, it
will have separate costs for Templating, Materials, Manufacture
of panels, and Installation. We can, in addition, break
the costs down into areas –for example, cockpit,
bathing platform, decks. This will allow you to decide
on the best way forward!
Full or partial
installation
There
are usually three stages in installation. The steps are:
1: Templating,
2: Fabrication of panels
3: Installation of panels.
Most areas can be laid in this manner.
If your boat cannot be done like this, we will advise
you the reasons for this, and possible ways around it.
1)
Templating.
A template (usually of heavy paper –but
sometimes MDF) is made of the areas to be decked. You
can make your templates, or get us to make them for you.
2) Fabrication of panels
Most areas can be made in sections on a bench, which will
reduce the dependency on weather, and the length of time
the boat is out of commission. Panels are manufactured
according to the templates.
3) Installation
Pre-fabricated panels are stuck down using
a single part polyurethane based adhesive, in accordance
with manufacturers recommendations, and any finishing
completed. We can send the panels and adhesive, or install
them for you.
